Former Kiss FM and NRG presenter Andrew Kibe is gearing up to launch a new online radio station, Rogue Radio.

Works are nearing completion on the station’s studios located in Nairobi.

The station is an extension of Kibe’s Rogue Tribe brand, which dabbles in merchandise, content and more.

Describing it as a dream come true, Kibe took fans on a tour of the studio on Monday, November 23.

The studio includes a round-table setup and a control room, with art of African legends such as E-Sir and Thomas Sankara adorning the walls. The station’s logo was selected as part of an online challenge from Kibe.

Brian Wambugu, the creative behind the winning design, was offered a job with Rogue Radio and paid for the logo.

The challenge had attracted numerous entries ahead of the station’s launch.

According to Kibe, Rogue Radio’s programming will include a lot of hit music and minimal talking.

Fans can, however, expect to hear the presenter make a come-back on radio, this time on his own platform.

Since leaving Kiss FM where he co-hosted the morning show alongside Kamene Goro, Kibe has been involved in various ventures, among them a popular podcast series and fitness challenges.

He has been the host of fitness events under the Manyactive brand.

He was replaced on Kiss FM by comedian Jalang’o, who has also found success with new online content in 2020.

Kibe’s Rogue Tribe also announced a partnership with rap group Wakadinali ahead of the launch of their album on November 28.

The group’s album ‘Victims of Madness’ is among the most highly-anticipated projects of the year.

Before landing on mainstream radio, Kibe cut a niche for himself online with his comedic, expletive-laden rants on various social topics.

Carrying a similar approach to radio, he cultivated a huge fanbase that is likely to tune in wherever he goes.
