Reports that Jubilee Secretary General, Raphael Tuju, is hospitalised at the Karen Hospital’s Intensive Care Unit (ICU) in critical condition are FALSE.

On Thursday, November 12, 2020, reports by certain social media users indicated that the politician was admitted at the hospital.

Among the people who shared such a report is a Facebook user Ouma Allan, who did not give any details of what the politician was ailing from, nor did he give the source of his news.

Business Today checked the authenticity of the news and found them to be false.

Speaking to The Star Newspaper, Tuju laughed off the reports, saying that initial reports indicated that he was dead.

“They say in media business that all publicity is good. It keeps you in the minds of the people. I can live with that. If anyone asks you please tell them that since the initial reports were that I was in the mortuary, the ICU is definitely a great improvement and therefore I will soon be in the general ward,” Tuju said.

Tuju was involved in a grisly road accident in February 2020  while en route to Kabarak for the burial of the late President Daniel Moi, and was flown to the UK for specialised treatment.

He returned to the country on March 8, 2020, and since then there have never been public reports of being hospitalised.

Reports that Raphael Tuju is hospitalised in the ICU are, therefore, FALSE.
