Credit Bank Named Kenya’s Best SME Bank

Credit Bank scooped two awards at the 2020 edition of the International Business Magazine Awards.

Credit Bank was named as the Best SME Bank in Kenya, and also took home the gong for Best Mobile Banking in Kenya.

The bank, which prides itself on supporting Small and Medium Sized Enterprises (SMEs), welcomed the recognition by the Dubai-based finance publication.

“The two awards by International Business Magazine Awards reflects Credit Bank’s unparalleled SME banking capabilities, as well as our commitment to push the innovation barrier to the next level. It is an honor to be recognized for our efforts, and a great motivation for our team to continue innovating and offering quality service,” stated Credit Bank CEO Betty Korir.

Korir observed that the Covid-19 pandemic had driven them to innovate products designed to help SMEs handle various emerging challenges.

Among the bank’s latest offerings is Clearing Solutions, a product which allows business owners to bank cheques from the comfort of their homes.

Its eHub platform has also provided entrepreneurs with non-financial support through learning and skills development from business experts, one on one coaching forums, knowledge sharing, market linkage and peer to peer learning sessions

The company has also immersed itself in digital banking, with a range of products meant to make it easier for SMEs to manage their finances and grow their businesses.

“We have provided digital banking solutions that have enabled SMEs conduct their businesses more efficiently through the pandemic.

“Cutting edge solutions such as Konnect2Bank that allows customers to transfer funds directly from bank account to Buy Goods Till Number or to Paybill, and integration of Paybill and Till Number deposits directly and instantly into your account, have ensured that businesses remain in operation through these unprecedented times,” Korir noted.

Credit Bank wasn’t the only Kenyan institution to win big at the gala.

National Bank won Best Customer Service Bank Kenya while Bismart Insurance walked away with the award for Best Insurance Technology Company Kenya.

Gulf African Bank won Best Islamic Bank Kenya, while GA Insurance was named Best General Insurance Business Company Kenya.

Standard Chartered Bank won Best Corporate Bank Kenya while Standard Investment Bank won Best Hedge Fund Manager Kenya.

Co-operative Bank of Kenya scooped two awards; Most Sustainable Bank Kenya and Best Mobile Loan Product Kenya.
