Four Points by Sheraton Nairobi Airport has been named the overall winner in Africa – Arabia region at the recently announced International Hotel Awards walking away with the official title of the Best Luxury Airport Hotel in Africa.

The hotel was also bagged the Best Airport Hotel For Kenya.

The award comes at an opportune time when much of the world’s hospitality industry is facing extreme downturns due to the ongoing pandemic. In Kenya, hotels have seen a marked decline in occupancy compared to 2019.

Four Points by Sheraton Nairobi Airport hotel plays a pivotal role for international travelers, business travelers as well as serving the surrounding community.

The hotel opted to continue running the hotel right through April, May, June and July; and is currently operating with a  full-service offering running meeting spaces, guest rooms and dining.

This has been achieved by deploying innovative health and safety measures, placing an emphasis on enhanced guest service as well as focusing on employee health and safety.

The hotel is paving the way as one of the success stories in the hospitality industry striving to navigate these challenging times.

Vivek Mathur, General Manager Four Points by Sheraton Nairobi noted “Going on to win the accolade for Best Luxury Airport Hotel in Africa for 2021 is particularly meaningful given the current challenges. It is a testament to our commitment to guests and the industry.  This award also serves as a reminder that the hard work our team puts in to guarantee health and safety does not go unnoticed.”

As restrictions for travel continue to lift and the country continues to move forward, Mr Mathur further noted “We are moving full steam ahead to meet all the requirements of our guests, whether travellers or the corporate community surrounding us. We are here for the long term.”

These awards are the most acclaimed industry awards, acknowledged globally. They are judged by an independent panel of 80 industry professionals chaired by Lord Thurso, a member of the House of Lords in the UK Parliament.

It is an achievement that is recognized as a mark of excellence for the hospitality industry.

Key areas the judges assess on include: design, quality, service, innovation, originality, and commitment to sustainability.

The Four Points by Sheraton Nairobi Airport opened in October 2017 is a 172-room hotel located strategically inside the JKIA Complex.

The hotel amenities include multi-functional meeting and event spaces, dedicated business lounge all-day dining restaurant, a rooftop bar and grill, coffee lounge, rooftop pool, gym and spa.
