Citizen TV news anchor and talk show host Jeff Koinange has recovered from COVID-19.

The popular TV personality took to social media on Thursday to announce the development stating he took another test which returned negative for the virus.

While reading the news from his residence on Wednesday, Koinange said he had taken another test 14 days after testing positive but had been advised to wait 72 hours before taking another test.

“Some news, after day 14, I tested again. I was negative… people from the clinic have insisted I should test again in 72 hours to get a double negative,” he said.

On July 20, Jeff Koinange shocked the country when he announced that he had contacted the virus.

“Folks, just to let you know, I have tested positive for Covid-19. I am doing Good. No symptoms…and my family is fine. All my close contacts have been informed. Right now I am in self-isolation. Many thanks to Royal Media Services management for its support. Stay safe and God bless!” he tweeted.

Koinange also said that he was asymptomatic until he got tested and thats when the test returned positive.

Days before Koinange’s announcement, his Citizen TV colleague, Senior Political Reporter Stephen Letoo also announced that he had tested positive for the virus.

Letoo revealed that he had contacted the virus and had proceeded to self-isolation together with his wife who he had been in close contact with.

The reporter revealed that he did not know he was carrying the virus until he went to get tested at the Nairobi Hospital.

So far, 23873 positive cases of COVID-19 have been confirmed in Kenya, 391 Kenyans have lost their lives to the virus while another 9930 have recovered.
