Former Capital FM journalists to head PR agency

TheCure Agency, a marketing and communications firm, has snapped former senior capital FM business journalist Kennedy Kang’ethe to lead its business development and acquisition department.

The agency has also hired former Oxygene Marketing Communications, Account Manager Margaret Wahito, who also worked at Capital FM, to lead the PR and communications.

The rebranded agency has been in existence for the last three years giving digital marketing solutions and has now extended its services to offer public relations and events management with a focus on small and medium enterprises.

Kang’ethe has been a Business Journalist at Capital FM for the last six years, with a focus on financial reporting. He is also the owner of a digital content platform dubbed Money Series Africa. He, Margaret and and a third partner, co-own a monthly event for Entrepreneurs, Founders Connect Africa that has been operating for the last six months.

Both platforms will now operate under TheCure Agency.

“With his experience as a business journalist, his interaction with SMEs through his digital platform Money Series Africa, as well as Founders Connect Africa  Kang’ethe brings a lot of experience and knowledge  in the business, and will take it to the new level that we foresee,” said Githinji James, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, TheCure Agency.

Margaret has worked in the media for the last seven years and was a business editor for Capital FM before moving to Oxygene. She also worked at Milele FM as a business editor and Swahili anchor. “Wahito’s Knowledge in Media Relations and PR will transform the business to the most sort after communication agency in Africa,” Githinji added.

Commenting on the new appointment, Kang’ethe said: “I am excited to be part of this team, as their vision goes hand in hand with my goals of creating and growing more entrepreneurs in Africa, helping entrepreneurs and SMEs tell their story through digital content and PR will go a long way in promoting entrepreneurship in Africa.”

Some of the brands that TheCure Agency have previously worked with include Heineken, Burger King, Facebook Inc, BetYetu, Jiweke Tavern, Muthaiga Golf Club, Kika Lodge and TaxiNet Kenya.
