Olive Mwea, Rawlings Odhiambo top performers in KCPE 2018

Olive Mwea from Riara Primary School and Rawlings Odhiambo from Kakamega Hill School are 2018’s top Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) candidates having scored 453 marks out of a possible 500 marks.

The 453 score by Mwea and Odhiambo is marginally lower by two marks compared to the 455 marks garnered by last year’s top candidate Goldalyn Kakuya.

However the number of students who scored 401 marks and above this year is marginally higher from 9,846 in 2017 to 12,273 this year.

A total of 228, 414 students scored between 301 marks-400 marks. 574,927 candidates scored between 201 to 300 marks while 234, 573 candidates scored between 101-200 marks.

Out of the 1,060,703 students who sat this year’s exam, 2,177 candidates scored between 0-100 marks.
