NTV weekly programme The Trend host Amina Abdi Rabar is back at Capital FM, where she is hosting a morning show. The charming TV and radio host was initially at the Chris Kirubi-owned media house before she shifted to K24’s Alfajiri show.

She resigned last November to replace Larry Madowo at NTV after he shifted to a more political programme, The Sidebar. Madowo has since left NTV for the BBC.

“This is still surreal to me! When I got the call from @radiobosslady to take on this show I thought it was a prank. I honestly still can’t believe I’m doing THE BREAKFAST SHOW at @capitalfmkenya I have so much to learn, Thanks @maqbull for being so patient with me. Thanks @reneengamau for believing I can fit in your shoes. To everyone who rallied to get me on air, BLESS YOU Now that it’s official, tune in every morning from 6-10am #Breakfast984 #AminaInTheMorning #AwardSpeech,’’ she posted on Instgram.

She will be co-hosting the show, Capital in the Morning, with Maqbul.  Apart from radio and TV, Amina is also a singer, MC and an actor. It not clear whether she has left NTV or will be hosting both shows. Capital FM is owned by billionaire businessman Chris Kirubi and targets a more affluent urban audience.

Amina is married to the head of Homeboyz Radio DJ John Rabar and they are blessed with one son.

She is engaged in two personal campaigns, Operation Santa – An intiative Amina started so as to feed street families. Whereby together with her fans (Amina Army) they go to different locations and feed street families and Brunch With Amina.

This is a youth empowerment programme whereby Amina has an intimate chat with ladies over the different fields in which she’s had a chance to work in.
