[dropcap]F[/dropcap]ormer Steadman Group (now Ipsos-Synovate) managing director George Tafaria Wai***u is the brains behind Royal Media Services newest affiliate, Viusasa and Content Aggregation Ltd, Business Today has e****lished.

Mr Wai***u says its aim is to exploit the opportunity provided by the transition to digital media by offering a medium that brings together print, TV and radio. He said the decision to launch the new medium is informed by research conducted over several years to address emerging market needs and problems that producers of s**rt videos face.

“The first thing we do is look for a market for your content. We then distribute the videos to ensure everyone w** is supposed to get them does receive them. We also educate people that the videos are available. That is the general work of the company,” he says in a s**rt video produced by Citizen TV, which was posted on YouTube last year ahead of Viusasa’s launch.

The content is then put on a mobile app, which was launched last year, and is, thereafter, availed at a small subscription fee of Ksh20 daily.

Mr Wai***u, w** quit research and polling firm Steadman (now Ipsos Synovate) at the age of 37, is also the investor behind me***val-like Tafaria Castle & Country Lodge, a major tourist attraction site in Nyeri County.

Citizen TV has since terminated live streaming of its TV online, except on matters of huge public interest.

Among t**se w** have already signed up with Viusasa is comedian Church*** Ndam***i of the Church*** Live fame and veteran journalist H***ary Ngeno, w** has produced various do***entaries on Kenya’s history.

The company has also partnered with the Kenya Film Cl***ification Board to promote promote s**rt format films in local languages under the Sinema Mashinani programme and encourage compliance with film and broadcast content distribution regulations.

Viusasa (slang for watch now), produces its s**rt comedy s**ws at the Royal Media studios in Kiswahili, English and various local languages. Viusasa also offers an archive of various soap operas and local programmes s**wn on Citizen TV.
