Without a single last-minute surprise, the Kenya national football team Harambee Stars coach Engin Firat has unveiled his roster for the upcoming Kenya vs Cameroon Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualification match scheduled for October 11, 2024, in Uganda.
For the most part, the players selected in the announced 28-man squad list have been together for more than three months, during which Kenya played two AFCON 2025 qualifiers games, one against Zimbabwe and another against Namibia, which ended 0-0 and 2-1, respectively.
The only notable inclusion is Michael Olunga Ogada, the 30-year-old striker and Harambee Stars captain under contract to Al Duhail SC of Qatar. He is returning after various injuŕies impeded his ability to make the team and play the past matches.

Left off the roster are several defenders and midfielders who had been a part of previous teams picked by Firat — defenders Aboud Omar Khamis of Kenya Police FC and Sharif Majabe of Bandari and midfielder Alwyn Tera, who plays for Armenian Premier League club Ararat-Armenia, among a few others.
