Police officers found a grisly scene in a carwash at Amazing Petrol Station in Misikhu Market in Bungoma County after the service guy discovered a dismembered human body in the trunk of a pastor’s car that he was washing.
The unidentified body had been placed in a carton that was inside the boot of the Toyota Premio belonging to a local preacher identified as Levis Simiyu, who ministers at a church in Ndivisi Ward, the police reported.
“The service guy was making the final touches at the boot when he noticed a protruding human leg, partly burnt and resting atop other such parts,” the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) said in a statement last evening. “The young man abandoned his duty, ready to retire early until the petrol station manager took a gaze at the creepy box.”
After seeing the dismembered torso, the petrol station manager immediately informed the police at Webuye Station, who arrived in time before the car owner could drive off and arrested him.
The police released few details, other than to say that the investigation was ongoing and that the medical examiner at Webuye County Hospital mortuary, where the body was taken, would determine the cause of death and help with identification.
