Former Kiambu Governor Ferdinand Waititu boasts a vast investment portfolio, one that includes various real estate holdings in and around the capital, Nairobi. Among his properties is Bienvenue Delta Hotel, a budget hotel located along University Way.
It emerged last year that Waititu had purchased the hotel for Ksh380 million. In a graft case in which he is accused of getting kickbacks from Kiambu county contractors, the hotel was identified as being among Waititu’s properties, with evidence of multiple acquisition transactions presented.
It currently costs around Ksh4,000 to spend a night at the six-storey hotel.
It boasts a prime location in the heart of the city close to numerous attractions, including parks, museums, bars and restaurants in the city. The hotel also incorporates a shared lounge and bar.
It offers conference facilities and hosts various meetings and events.
Some rooms at the hotel feature terraces with stunning views of the city. All rooms at the Delta Hotel include a private bathroom while selected rooms also have a kitchen. All rooms at the hotel come with a seating area and flat-screen TV with access to satellite channels.

The on-site restaurant’s specialty is Australian and African cuisine. It also offers dairy-free options.
The hotel forms part of Waititu’s vast real estate holdings. Among his properties in Nairobi are various parcels of land, commercial and residential buildings, and petrol stations.
In response to past inquiries on how he managed to amass wealth, Waititu has denied claims of involvement in corruption stating that he has long been engaged in numerous business ventures.
“I want people to know that even before venturing in politics 20 years ago when I was elected councilor, I was already driving a Mercedes limousine and a Range Rover besides owning a palatial home in Nairobi and running 25 lorries on the road,” he once stated.
