Sage, the integrated accounting, payroll and payment systems provider, has launched a cloud payroll solution targeted at start-ups and small businesses.

Sage One Payroll is a smart online payroll solution that allows businesses to file earnings (owed to employees) and deductions (what the employee owes) by automatically calculating  all statutory deductions – income tax, National Health Insurance Fund (NHIF), National Social Security Fund (NSSF) and other payroll related costs, leaving employers with the correct net salary for each employee.

“For as little as Ksh100 per employee per month, Sage One Payroll streamlines the capturing of transactions, automates payroll calculations and brings visibility to the business.

Start-ups and SMEs now have the ability to file statutory returns, automatically update the payroll general ledger in Sage One Accounting and produce professional electronic pay slips which is a major time saver,” said Nikki Summers, Regional Director for Sage in East Africa.

The easy to use cloud-based solution will help small businesses keep track of annual changes to tax regulations that impact on payroll tax calculations while availing a flexible pricing model based on the number of employees.

The operations and dynamics of small businesses are such that some of the challenges they face include; Non-Compliance, Improper accounting practices, payroll fraud and theft of physical devices that hold sensitive data.

This cloud-based software will help provide an audit trail, reconcile input and output based on a set of controls for better visibility into all business transactions.

“Business builders and entrepreneurs don’t go into business to manage admin and red tape. Our vision is to make those tasks invisible by 2020 by automating the back-office functions so that they can focus on business strategy and more creative tasks that will enable them to follow their dreams” Concluded Nikki Summers.

The Sage One Accounting and Payroll software is available on a free trial until 31st May 2017 and at a special introductory price of Ksh.17, 000 for 10 employees for an annual subscription.
