Chams Media, owned by veteran journalist Alex Chamwada, has announced a return of the Daring Abroad programme after a four-month hiatus.

Daring Abroad is a TV program that features Kenyans living and working abroad, and foreign nationals living and working in Kenya.

The show had been on a break since April 2022 as Alex Chamwada and his team announced that they had embarked on extensive production of content. It is also said that the show had taken a break to due to the political season.

Daring Abroad, a production of Chams Media Limited, began in 2015 and had been airing on KTN News channel until October 2020 when it was shifted to NTV Kenya.

In a promo shared by Chams Media, Alex Chamwada says the break has been refreshing and rejuvenating.

“We have really gone places, home and away. And now, we are ready to serve it to you,” he said.

The season premiere is set for October 8, 2022, with the show airing every Saturday at 7.30pm and repeats Sundays at 1.30pm.

Chams Media on September 28, 2021, renewed its partnership with Nation Media Group to have the Daring Abroad show air on NTV Kenya for another year.

While signing the contract a year ago, Nation Media Group CEO Mr Stephen Gitagama termed the Daring Abroad show as a programme that inspires more Kenyans to try their luck in other countries, making them more productive and economically empowered.

Daring Abroad is a program I personally like,” Mr Gitagama said. “It inspires a number of Kenyans to discover other parts of the world, and that is the essence of Daring Abroad. It encourages our youth, our citizens to look for opportunities outside their mother countries.”

The company also produces Ushirika, a program that focuses on the cooperative movement in Kenya. Sponsored by the Cooperative Bank of Kenya, the show airs on NTV Kenya.
