DPO Group names Lourens Brink as new Chief Financial Officer

DPO Group, the leading African payment service provider, has announced the appointment of Lourens Brink as the Group Chief Financial Officer (CFO) effective August 1, 2018. Brink, who was serving as the Head of Finance for DPO PayGate South Africa, will bring 11 years of financial, strategic and operational experience to the DPO Group. He will be based in Nairobi.

“We are very pleased to announce the appointment of Lourens Brink as DPO Group’s Chief Financial Officer. Brink’s broad mix of financial, sales and product management experience will be a fantastic addition to our group’s Top Executive Team,” said DPO Group CEO, Eran Feinstein.

Offer Gat, DPO Group’s chairman, added: “On behalf of our Board of Directors, I welcome Lourens Brink to his new position at DPO. Brink has a long tenure serving in various leadership roles, extensive experience in strategic planning, business development, corporate financing and strong financial oversight.”

Brink has spent the last two years as the head of finance for DPO Southern Africa overseeing an aggressive expansion in this area through organic and acquisitive growth. He also formed part of the senior management team in Southern Africa.

Brink commented, “It is a tremendous opportunity to join the DPO HQ Management team. I am fully committed and eager to help DPO continue to execute on its financial and operational goals within this region.’’

Brink has experience in the consulting, auditing and financial services sector, having completed his studies at the University of Pretoria, earning his Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting option) degree in 2006, and his honours and CTA degrees in 2007.

He completed his qualifying exams and articles at KPMG and qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 2010. He is an active member of The South African Institute of Chartered Accountants (SAICA). Lourens also holds an MBA (cum laude) from the University of Stellenbosch, excelling in finance, leadership and strategy.
