Resolution Insurance has hosted a Wellness Drive Forum in partnership with BLK Hospital from India, at a Nairobi hotel. This was with the aim of promoting healthy lifestyles by educating their clients and the public on the importance of making choices towards a healthy and fulfilling life.

The two-day forum started on Friday. Present during the first day of the wellness drive was Betty Omune, General Manager, Medical Operations and Jemima Mbugua, Head of Care and Medical Advisory.

Upholding an ideal level of wellness is critical to living a higher quality life. Wellness matters because everything we do and every emotion we feel relates to our well-being. In turn, our well-being directly affects our actions and emotions. It’s an ongoing circle. Therefore, it is important for everyone to achieve optimal wellness in order to subdue stress, reduce the risk of illness and ensure positive interactions.

“In this day and age it is important for us to take our general well being seriously, there are so many illnesses cropping up every day but if we make wellness a priority we are in a better position to fight the illness or even prevent it altogether,” said Betty Omune, Resolution Insurance General Manager Medical operations during the event.

Resolution Insurance would like to stress on this as it is a crucial topic that needs to be addressed. Wellness is an active process of becoming aware of and making choices toward a healthy and fulfilling life. It is more than being free from illness, it is a dynamic process of change and growth.

Resolution Insurance invited their clients to an interactive wellness session by specialist doctors. The key speakers for the wellness drive we’re Dr Ashish Goel, a Senior Consultant in Surgical Oncology and Dr Ishwar Bohra, a Senior Consultant in Joint Replacement and Sports Medicine Surgeon. Dr Goel spoke on cancer management and prevention while Dr Bohra spoke on back pain management and prevention.
