A photo shared online purportedly showing Kisumu Senator Tom Ojienda launching Affordable Housing units in Wasare, North Nyakach Ward, is misleading.
The claim was shared on September 18, 2023, by Facebook user Hosea Jabura in the Nyakach Youth Forums Facebook Group, which had over 26,000 members as of November 15, 2023.
“Joy as Kisumu County Senator Tom Ojienda launches Affordable Housing project in Wasare, North Nyakach Ward. Kenyans are happy,” Jabura stated.
A reverse image search on Google reveals that the information is false since the Senator was not launching an Affordable Housing project at the moment.
In the photo, the Senator was launching an office for the Achego sub-location assistant chief in Kisumu County.
The event was reported by several local media outlets, including Citizen Digital and The Standard.
