Suspected Drug Trafficker Arrested in Kisauni, DCI Say

One man was arrested today in Kisauni by anti-narcotics officers from Mombasa and accused of involvement in a drug-smuggling ring operating mainly in the coastal area, DCI Kenya, the Directorate of Criminal Investigations announced.

“The suspect, Zuher Ali Mohamed, was arrested in an early morning operation informed by a tip-off from a concerned member of the public,” the detectives said.

After his arrest, which reportedly happened in Kiembeni, Bombo area of Kisauni, he led the police to his house and personal car, leading to detectives seizing sachets of suspected heroin and marijuana (bhang).

Also seized from the suspect is that vehicle, believed to be acquired through crime, Ksh26,250 and USD 200 in cash, a weighing machine, packaging envelopes and three mobile phones believed to contain data of his accomplices, officials said.

Zuher Ali Mohamed will be arraigned at the Mombasa Law Courts today, April 18, 2024, on drug trafficking and other related charges.
