StarTimes Media subscribers are set to enjoy enriched programming with the pay-television company set to boost its Telenovela offering following the introduction of the first Afro-Brazilian channel, Nina Novelas.

Nina Novelas channel has partnerships with Côte Ouest, the leading distribution leader of content for and from Africa who pioneered the telenovelas having established the largest network of partner producers and is also Globo’s exclusive distributor in Africa who are world’s leading producers of telenovelas with a combined production budget of over $400,000.

StarTimes Regional Marketing Director Aldrine Nsubuga noted that the new channel will captivate viewers with the unique family-oriented plots leveraging on the strong African heritage by the African cast.

“Telenovelas have been enjoying constant success among our subscribers. Nina Novelas will, therefore, complement our similar content genre offering such as ST Novela E and ST Novela E Plus. Furthermore, Nina Novelas will offer numerous African series, which is consistent with our strategy of promoting local productions,” noted Mr Nsubuga.

StarTimes subscribers will access at least 6 new episodes each day from different African and Brazilian telenovelas ranging from teen, family, world, family, classic, action and crime stories. Over the weekends, Nina Novelas will also offer subscribers the opportunity to watch all the episodes broadcasted during the week, thanks to an omnibus programming.

Nina Novela channel will be available on Classic bouquet, channel 80 for just Ksh799 per month on StarTimes terrestrial platform and Super bouquet, channel 140 for just Ksh1,499 on StarTimes satellite platform.
