SportPesa is the official sponsor of the Muay Thai Ultra Fight Series, Title Fight, to be held on Saturday, February 26, at the Bomas of Kenya.

There will be eight fights with 18 fįghters from eight African countries participating. Martin Achebi of Kenya will be defending his WBC Africa Welterweight title against Cape Verde’s Matias Brayan.  Javan Buyu of Kenya and Salim Mbaye of Senegal will also be fįghting for the WBC Africa Featherweight title.

The event is sanctioned by the World Boxing Council (WBC) Muay Thai Africa and held in conjunction with Kenyan Muay Thai Federation (KMTF)

Muay Thai, which is sometimes referred to as Thai boxing, is a martial art and combat sport that originated in Thailand and is gaining popularity in Africa.

“SportPesa has remained dedicated in promoting sports in Kenya including boxing. We support both the athletes and facilities. Last year we refurbished the community Umoja Boxing Ring to enable the aspiring boxers to have better facilities and equipment to train,” said SportPesa’s CEO Captain Ronald Karauri.

“We believe in growing the sports economy and will continue investing across the country, especially in potential athletes and teams as well as bring you the Vegas type of fįghts to showcase Kenya as a sporting destination.”

All the athletes arrived in Kenya on Friday, February 25.
