A 27 year old slaughter house supervisor from Eastleigh Area, Nairobi County is the winner of the seventh and final house in the current Safaricom Maisha ni M-Pesa Tu campaign.

Omar Hassan Muhumud from Eastleigh is the latest homeowner after winning the apartment located in Nairobi’s Kahawa Estate.

Speaking after the house was presented by Safaricom’s Director of Financial Services Sitoyo Lopokoiyit, a jubilant Muhamud said he uses M-PESA for both work-related and personal expenses.

He uses M-PESA to send money for upkeep and medical care to his mother who lives in Mandera. He also uses the service for shopping, making payments and work related purposes such as banking proceeds from sales.

“I had just arrived at work and I was alighting from a bodaboda when I received a call. Once I was informed that I am the winner of the final apartment, I was excited beyond measure. I have heard about the promotion on radio but I never expected to win anything,” said Muhumud.
