Kenyan hotels won big at this year’s World Luxury Hotel Awards with Sarova Hotels scooping a majority of the Continental, Country and Region awards at a gala event held at the Kulm Hotel St Moritz in Switzerland.

The Sarova Hotels, Resorts and Game Lodges, the largest indigenous chain of hotels in country was awarded the Luxury Management Group award in Nairobi, as well as the Luxury Collection Group Award and Luxury Brand Award in the country and across the continent respectively.

The Sarova Mara Game Camp, strategically placed within the Maasai Mara National Reserve and near the Sekenani gate, took home the biggest award of the night for the Sarova Hotels group when it was recognised as the global winner in the Luxury Tented Safari Camp category. The lodge also took the top honours as Africa’s Luxury Adventure Destination.

Sarova Stanley was voted as the best Luxury Heritage Hotel in the continent, as well as the Luxury City Hotel in Nairobi region. The hotel, which was constructed in 1903, has continue to amaze guests due to its rich historical story that is conveyed through a heritage tour within the hotel.

Sarova Whitesands Beach Resort and Spa emerged top in Kenya’s Luxury Spa Resort & Luxury Beach Resort category. It was also awarded as the top Luxury Family Resort in the Coastal city of Mombasa.

Sarova Hotels Marketing and Sales Director Jimi Kariuki applauded the staff in all the chain’s hotels for their dedication in offering quality services and unforgettable experiences to the guests. “The awards are a reminder that we have to keep on improving on our service and product offering considering the stiff competition in the Kenyan hospitality sector. It is a crowning moment to the staff at Sarova Hotels in what has been a tough year for the Sarova Hotels fraternity.”

The World Luxury Hotel Awards win by Sarova Hotels comes barely a month after the chain of hotels bagged four awards at the 2017 Haute Grandeur Global Hotel and Spa Awards. In addition, the Group won in four other awards ceremonies in the year, namely, Trip Advisor’s Traveller’s Choice Award, World Luxury Hotel Awards, World Luxury Spa Awards and the World Travel Awards where Sarova Hotels was awarded as Africa’s leading hotel brand.

World Luxury Hotel Awards, the world’s most prestigious and exclusive Awards recognising the best facilities and service excellence the hotel industry has to offer, aim to not only recognise but also maintain overall service excellence by building staff morale. Winners are purely judged on service delivery and effective management voted for by International tour operators, travel agents and hotel guests who get the opportunity to cast their valuable votes annually.
