Safaricom has embarked on an aggressive move to grow the uptake of its Home fibre service. This will see the company roll out the service to more homes across the country. In addition, for the next two months (August and September) all new Safaricom Home fibre customers will receive a 50% discount.

“Safaricom Home Fibre is a proposition that we began offering just over two years ago and this has been a new experience for most of our customers. As a result, we have designed the 50 percent discount to appeal to those who would like to experiment and try out the service. We continue to record remarkable growth driven by demand for unlimited entertainment, working at home, home CCTV among other emerging customer needs,” said Michael Joseph, Acting CEO, Safaricom.

New customers will automatically qualify for the offer once they dial *400# and choose “Get Safaricom Home Fibre”. The Bronze package will entitle customers to a one month half-price offer while new customers on the Silver, Gold, and Diamond packages will enjoy two months at the 50% off pricing.

Safaricom is also looking to extend its fibre coverage to more than 15,000 additional homes across the country over the next two months. Some of the areas to be covered include parts of Kisumu and Thika, Kizingo in Mombasa, and Kinoo, Komarock and Ruaka in Nairobi.

The service currently reaches more than 300,000 homes across the country, with more than 107,000 customers connected across Nairobi, Mombasa, Eldoret, Kisumu, Nakuru, Nyeri and Thika.
