The Public Service Commission (PSC) appointed Peter Mbae, a leadership and governance consultant, to be the new head of Government Delivery Services (GDS), the Ministry of Public Service, Performance and Delivery Management announced Friday.
Dr Mbae, who is a former MCA for Kabazi Ward in Nakuru County, will replace Agnes Odhiambo, whose reason for stepping down is still unknown.
After his selection, Moses Kuria, the Cabinet Secretary for Public Service, Performance and Delivery Management, said in a statement that Dr Mbae would begin his new job immediately, with utmost confidence that, as an effective leader, he would serve with professionalism, integrity and skill.

“Dr Mbae brings a wealth of experience to this role, having served as the outgoing head of ministerial programmes in the Ministry of Public Service, Performance and Delivery Management, as well as previously holding the position of head of Ministerial Delivery Unit in the Ministry of Investments, Trade and Industry,” said CS Kuria.
Government Delivery Services is a centre of government function based in the State Department for Performance and Delivery Management within the Office of the Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi. Its primary responsibilities include improving the coordination of National government flagship programs by monitoring, evaluating and reporting on the timely fulfilment of key development priorities, programmes and projects.
It also carries out independent verification to determine the true status of government projects under implementation in the regions and counties all over Kenya.
Along with Dr Mbae, another Kelvin Ligina Jumba was selected by PSC as Secretary for Programmes in the Office of the Cabinet Secretary for Public Service, Performance and Delivery Management.
