People Daily editor appeals for funds for wife’s kidney transplant

People Daily News Editor Chris Oyuga has sent out an appeal for funds to enable his wife undergo a kidney transplant.

Using, among others, the online fundraising platform, M-Changa, Oyuga is asking friends and well-wishers to assist his wife, Sabina, travel to India for the crucial procedure.

“Sabina was diagnosed with Chronic Kidney failure stage v  on November 15th and was immediately put on haemodialysis. She is currently on a twice weekly dialysis at the Parklands Kidney Centre under the care of Dr Ahmed Twahir, Telephone contact 0723-88-96-12/3752727,” he says

According to Oyuga, Dr Twahir and other doctors have advised that the only permanent solution is an urgent kidney transplant.

“Please assist us with whichever donation to materialise the doctor’s recommendation,” he pleads.

M-Changa is a fundraiser management platform that provides cutting edge end-to-end management tools to enhance fundraising success.

It provides a cheap method of collecting funds through mobile money, and for diaspora contributors provides a transparent and cheap method of remitting cash to specific causes, with transparency at all stages of the fundraiser.

Those wishing to assist Oyuga can send their donations using Paybill 891300 Account SABINA or go to Airtel Money, Select Make Payments, Pay Bill, Other  Business Name MCHANGA, Reference SABINA.

One can also use Equitel by going to My Money, Select Send/Pay, Select Account, Enter business number 891300 and Enter account number SABINA.

Other formats that one can use on M-Changa are Visa, SimbaPay and PayPal.

With only 71 days left, however, only three people have responded to the appeal contributing a total of Ksh4,600.
