Nairobi and Mombasa are set to host one of the world’s fastest-growing entertainment brands this week, as Old School R&B Brunch, popularly known as OSR, brings its signature experience to Kenya.
The four-day series promises a unique mix of music, culture, and connection, giving fans a chance to immerse themselves in the celebrated OSR atmosphere.
The programme will begin at Mass House in Nairobi and conclude at Sarova Whitesands Beach Resort in Mombasa. Each event is designed to celebrate music, culture, and community, staying true to the brand’s global reputation.
“From the very beginning, Old School R&B Brunch was about more than music; it was about creating a space where people could connect, be themselves, and celebrate a culture that shaped us. Bringing that energy to Kenya feels like coming home, and we cannot wait to share the experience with Nairobi and Mombasa,” Reiss, Co-Founder of OSR said.
OSR was founded six years ago in London by childhood friends Reiss, Olu, and Paul. The trio drew inspiration from their Nigerian heritage and a passion for soulful, authentic experiences to create a space where music lovers could come together in a safe, vibrant environment.
During the pandemic, the brand adapted by hosting weekly live DJ sessions on Instagram, connecting audiences worldwide and accelerating its international growth.
What started as a single brunch in 2019 with just 250 guests has grown into a global phenomenon, reaching more than 45 cities across 15 countries. London events regularly attract over 800 attendees. Today, OSR has expanded beyond events, establishing professional recording studios and its own Restaurant and Bar, reinforcing its status as a global entertainment powerhouse.
With its arrival in Kenya, OSR promises to bring the same energy, nostalgia, and sense of community that has become its hallmark to East Africa. Fans can look forward to the following events:
On Thursday, 14 August, the Business of Music Summit will take place from 5 pm to 9 pm at Sarova Panafric. This high-level industry gathering will bring together artists, tastemakers, and executives to discuss the future of music in Africa.
On Friday, 15 August, the OSR Padel Party will run from 6 pm to 9 pm. This event combines sport, socialising, and the best R&B classics for a lively evening.
