Odi Mtaani Foundation by online betting company Odibets, in collaboration with the Betting Control and Licensing Board (BCLB), have launched a multi-million water project at Kako School for Special Needs in Makueni.

The project was launched on Friday, February 23, 2024, by the General Manager of Odi Mtaani Dedan Mungai, and graced by BCLB Chairperson Rev (Dr) Jane Mwikali Makau.

“We thank you for the warm welcome you have given us here. We are glad to offer help, and this is not the end. We shall continue supporting communities,” Mungai stated.

He announced the commencement of a borehole drilling project by Odi Mtaani’s geology team, scheduled to begin the following Monday. Additionally, Odi Mtaani contributed sanitary towels and foodstuffs, underscoring their commitment to holistic community development.

Dr Makau instructed the school to form a management committee to ensure the effective operation and longevity of the borehole, emphasizing sustainable community impact.

“I would like to appreciate the Odi Mtaani Foundation for sinking a borehole for our schools and community at large. This is a gesture that should be embraced by other betting firms,” Dr Makau stated.

“On behalf of the residents, I am grateful for the good deeds you have come today to do for our community. This water project will promote education to greater heights in Kako School and the community at large,” Shadrack Nduto Mwendo, a local resident said.

The event ended in a symbolic tree-planting ceremony, led by the chief guest and other dignitaries, symbolising the growth, resilience, and enduring impact of collaborative efforts in uplifting communities.

“In an era where corporate social responsibility is increasingly vital, Odibets sets a commendable example, demonstrating that genuine commitment to community well-being goes beyond profits, leaving an indelible mark on the lives of those in need,” Odibets said in a statement.
