The trial of National Youth Service II corruption suspects failed to proceed on Monday October 29 after the prosecution introduced new evidence against 37 accused persons including former Youth Affairs Principal Secretary Lilian Omollo and former NYS Director General Richard Ndubai.

State Prosecutor Joseph Irungu asked the court to adjourn the proceedings to Wednesday, 9:00 am to allow the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (ODPP) shore up its case in light of the new evidence.

ODPP through Irungu said it had acquired new crucial evidence from witnesses through statements and documents.

Senior Magistrate Douglas Ogoti allowed the application but however warned the prosecutorial office against adjourning the case any further.

He also directed the prosecution to avail the updated documents to the court by Tuesday 11am to allow the defence lawyers prepare their cases in light of the new charges.
