The Nation Media Group has announced the retirement of Leonard Mususa as a director of the company effective 1st October 2024. Mr Mususa joined the NMG board as an Independent Non-Executive Director in March 2015. During his tenure, he served as a member and later chairman of the Audit, Risk and Compliance Committee and as a member of the Human Resources Committee.
Mr Mususa led the transition of the then Finance and Audit Committee of NMG’s Board to become the Board’s Audit and Risk Committee, following the expansion of the committee’s mandate to include Risk, alongside Audit and Finance.
Ms Angela Namwakira, NMG Company Secretary, said in addition to his thought leadership and significant value addition to the board committees and the Board, Mr Mususa has been a most respected and invaluable resource to NMG in Tanzania, where he will continue to serve as Chairman of the Board of Mwananchi Communications Limited, pending transition in due course.
“The board expresses its sincere appreciation to Mr Mususa for his immense contribution to NMG over his tenure and wishes him well in his future endeavours, as he continues to diligently serve both business and community interests across the region,” Ms Namwakira said.
