Bumpa, Nigeria’s leading business management platform for micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs), has officially entered the Kenyan market. The platform, which is available via mobile app and web, provides a comprehensive suite of tools designed to help entrepreneurs automate and scale.
The platforms enables a number of functions including recording online and offline sales, launch of responsive online storefronts, communicating with their customers, and collecting payments directly through M-Pesa. “Kenya is a key market and a launchpad for us into East Africa. We are looking forward to serving Kenyan businesses by enabling them to manage their operations better, which ultimately leads to growth,” said Bumpa Co-founder and CEO, Kelvin Umechukwu.
According to a 2024 study, published in the Indo American Journal of Multidisciplinary Research and Review, on digital platforms for SMEs, businesses in emerging markets that adopt integrated digital tools see revenue growth of up to 30% and those using Customer Relationship Management (CRM) tools show a 15–30% increase in total sales and a 25–40% improvement in customer retention.
Umechukwu said business management software such as Bumpa help businesses grow since they allow smarter business management and offer access to important business analytics, freeing up an entrepreneur from administrative tasks to focus on other areas of the business.

Bumpa, referred to as the “King of Social Commerce” in Nigeria, aims to live up to its moniker in Kenya by helping businesses that trade on social media manage their sales more efficiently. Social commerce refers to the practice of marketing and selling products and services directly through social media platforms.
“Social and conversational commerce is a common way of doing business in Kenya and most of Africa, and we are integrating our platform with Meta to make it easier for businesses that sell on Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp to receive messages from those platforms directly on Bumpa. This feature and more will be available soon,” said the Bumpa co-founder, Kelvin Umechukwu.
Bumpa’s integration with Meta will allow its users to receive Instagram and Facebook DMs on the platform, share products, send invoices, and request payments directly from Bumpa to Meta.
According to a report by Datareportal, a global data insights company, Kenya has over 33 million Meta users, with over 60% of those engaging in some form of social commerce, from product research to buying and selling. Another report by CustomersAI, a global outbound sales company, shows that 85% of consumers would like to message brands, and 75% of people would be more likely to purchase if they could get answers over messaging. The report also shows that there’s over 60% Customer Lifetime Value (CLV) for customers who chat with businesses compared to those who don’t.
