Mansa-X Special Funds, managed under the Standard Investment Trust Funds platform, have crossed the USD 1 billion mark in assets under management, underscoring growing investor appetite for diversified collective investment schemes in Kenya’s evolving capital markets.

The milestone positions Mansa-X as Kenya’s largest special Collective Investment Scheme (CIS) and diversified portfolio in the region, with inflows recorded across its four fund variants. The funds are structured to serve a broad investor base, offering both conventional and Shariah-compliant options, each available in Kenya Shillings and US Dollars, catering to local, regional, and international investors seeking currency and portfolio diversification.

The growth in assets has been supported by strong underlying performance in 2025, a year marked by volatile global markets and shifting domestic monetary conditions. The Mansa-X Special Fund (KES) posted average net returns of 20.74%, while the USD-denominated fund returned 13.37% net. The Mansa-X Shariah Special Fund delivered 17.25% in KES and 11.64% in USD, representing the strongest annual performance since inception.

Market analysts note that demand for professionally managed funds has increased as investors seek risk-adjusted returns and capital preservation in an environment of moderating interest rates and currency pressures. According to Standard Investment Bank (SIB), the performance reflects a disciplined investment approach anchored on active portfolio management, prudent asset allocation, and a long-term view of market fundamentals.

The availability of both local and hard-currency options has also attracted investors seeking to hedge currency exposure while remaining invested in the Kenyan and regional markets.

Mr Nahashon Mungai, Executive Director – Global Markets at Standard Investment Bank, said the achievement reflects sustained investor confidence in the firm’s investment philosophy. “Crossing the USD 1 Billion threshold is a strong vote of confidence from our investors,” said Mr Mungai. “Our focus remains on delivering consistent, risk-adjusted returns while maintaining the highest standards of governance, transparency, and regulatory compliance.”

Standard Investment Bank added that it will continue to strengthen its investment capabilities and operational efficiency as it scales its asset management business, positioning the Mansa-X Funds as a core investment solution for institutional and individual investors in Kenya and the wider region.
