As the winter 2025 transfer window is due to shut today, Monday, 3 February 2025, at 23:00 GMT, we have the latest Manchester United transfer updates, rumours, and gossip;

Manchester United have signed Patrick Dorgu from Lecce and Ayden Heaven from Arsenal, while agreeing on a deal to loan Marcus Rashford to Aston Villa until the end of the season.

Rashford, who has had a tumultuous season at Old Trafford, has scored 138 goals in 426 appearances for the Red Devils since his senior debut against FC Midtjylland in 2016. Having come through the club’s academy, he has lifted five major trophies, including the Europa League, two FA Cups, and two League Cups, since that time.

The versatile forward, who can play anywhere along the front line, has also netted 17 goals in an England shirt and has represented his country at two World Cups and two European Championships.

Manchester United is understood to be working within very tight financial constraints and PSR (Profitability and Sustainability Rules) limits, having spent £108.5 million on strikers Rasmus Højlund and Joshua Zirkzee in successive summers. Under PSR, clubs are not allowed to lose more than £105 million over a three-season rolling period.

Italian sports journalist Fabrizio Romano reported Lecce’s asking price for Dorgu at €40 million, but Man Utd made an official offer of £25 million (€30 million), which was accepted by the Serie A club, for the 20-year-old defender to move to Old Trafford until June 2030, with the option of an additional year.

Dorgu’s ability on the ball and his strength going forward convinced United to make their move. He has made 57 appearances for Lecce since his senior debut at the start of last season and has averaged 1.7 shots per match, scoring three times—two being match-winning goals.

As for Heaven from Arsenal, an agreement was reached between the clubs for an undisclosed fee, subject to the completion of regulatory processes.

Those are the only two signings for Man Utd as Ruben Amorim looks to strengthen his squad for the remainder of the 2024/25 season.
