Makini Schools, which is part of the ADvTECH Group, has expanded its offering by acquiring Regis Runda Academy.

Situated in the fast-developing Ridgeways area, northeast of Nairobi, the school, with a current capacity of 2,000 learners, will be rebranded as Makini School Runda. ADvTECH will take over operations on 20th August 2025.

“We are pleased to welcome the Regis staff, students, and parents to Makini Schools,” said Horace Mpanza, Regional Managing Director at Makini Schools. “We plan to build on the strong foundations the founders of Regis have laid and our intention is to take the school to the next phase of its development.”

ADvTECH has committed to investing in AI-powered digital learning tools and significant enhancements to sporting facilities at the Regis site to elevate student experience and maximise academic outcomes.

“We are delighted to increase our Makini Schools footprint in Kenya and to bring the brand’s compelling proposition to parents and students in one of the fastest developing regions of Nairobi,” said ADvTECH Group CEO, Geoff Whyte.

In November 2024, ADvTECH acquired Flipper International School in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. In June, it officially launched Rosebank International University College in Accra, Ghana.

These developments reinforce the group’s commitment to providing superior private education across the African continent.
