The Kenya Tea Development Agency (KTDA) Holdings Limited has ushered in new leadership at the board level following the election of Enos Njeru as Chairman and Samson Mosonik Menjo as Vice Chairman.

The two take over from Chege Kirundi and Omweno James Ombasa, who served as Chair and Vice Chairman, respectively. The leadership change comes at a time when the tea sector is under pressure to improve farmer earnings and strengthen its position in the global market.

In a statement, KTDA congratulated the new office holders and expressed confidence in their ability to steer the agency forward.

“We congratulate Enos Njeru on his election as Chairman and Samson Mosonik Menjo as Vice Chairman. The Board has full confidence in their leadership and commitment to the growth and stability of KTDA Holdings,” the statement read.

The Board also thanked the outgoing leaders for their service, noting that their tenure helped maintain stability within the organisation.

“We sincerely appreciate the outgoing Chair and Vice Chairman for their dedicated service and guidance to the Agency,” the statement added.

KTDA Holdings plays a key role in Kenya’s tea industry. It manages tea factories on behalf of smallholder farmers and oversees processing, marketing and value addition. As one of the main players in the country’s agricultural exports, its leadership decisions often have a direct impact on farmer returns and the sector’s overall performance.

The Board reaffirmed its commitment to strong corporate governance and protecting farmers’ value. It said the agency will continue working to position Kenya’s tea competitively in both regional and international markets.

“KTDA Holdings remains committed to upholding the highest standards of corporate governance, protecting farmers’ value, and positioning Kenya’s tea competitively in regional and international markets,” the Board stated.
