KQ unveils group booking tool

Kenya Airways has launched a new solution on its portal that enables its customers to book group travel in an efficient, simple and user-friendly way.

The Group Booking Tool is currently accessible on the airline’s website, www.Kenya-airways.com, for self-registration and booking. The tool is accessible for all travel agents and retail customers who have group bookings. The tool is linked to all Global Distribution Systems (GDS) and reservation system in real time.

This booking tool will enable customers to manage their booking process including a view of competitive pricing and reserving seats based on the proposed dates of travel and flights. Payments and ticketing will be done through the tool to bring efficiency in the groups bookings process.

Kenya Airways Group Managing Director and CEO Sebastian Mikosz said the new booking tool will significantly streamline the group booking process while reducing the turnaround time to close the deal.

“With its quick turnaround time, our new group booking tool is able to accomplish group travel reservations in minutes rather than days. With this new tool, we aim to improve sales effectiveness for our customers as well as increase customer satisfaction by providing tailored offers while also maximising the revenue contribution from group business,” he said. “It also allows us to broaden our revenue streams.”

The tool mainly targets schools and learning institutions, religious associations, sports teams, associations, corporates, conference delegates and family groups, among other customers.

The tool will be based on encoded system based artificial intelligence concepts that compute the users group booking requests based on space availability, projected bookings and historical booking of a similar time or season on the previous year (s).

The new solution is provided by Sabre Corporation, which is a leading technology provider to the global travel industry.
