KQ domestic flights: Kenya Airways has resumed its domestic flights on today, Sunday 02 May 2021, following the lifting of the restriction of movement in and out of Nairobi as directed by President Uhuru Kenyatta.
The airline will fly two times daily to the coastal city of Mombasa and once daily to the lakeside city of Kisumu as it continues to review the option of increasing frequencies as demand picks.
KQ says it will continue to work closely with the Government of Kenya through the Ministry of Health and Kenya Airports Authority (KAA) to enforce safety measures and protocols. “The airline’s utmost priority remains the health and safety of the passengers, crew, and staff,” the airline said.
All passengers and airport users are still required to strictly observe the safety measures in place to ensure the safety of all airport users. “They are therefore advised to familiarize themselves with the health protocols in place including wearing facemasks throughout the journey and making use of the sanitiser stations,” it said in a statement.
Meanwhile, Kenya Airways on Friday suspended passenger flights between India and Kenya until further notice. KQ said that the move was in accordance with the Government of Kenya’s directive on travel between the two countries.
Kenya Airways however says that cargo operations will continue to run to facilitate delivery of emergency supplies including pharmaceuticals and medical equipment to Kenya and across Africa. The government suspended all flights to and from India for 14 days.
