The annual Black Friday shopping bonzana is almost here. And at Jumia, everyone is rearing to go with thousands of products expected to be on offer.

One of the craziest highlights this year will be the Bajaj motorbikes that will sell for only Ksh1,000 – yes you read that right.

Sources at Jumia, Kenya’s biggest online marketplace, indicate that Black Friday deals that begin on 8th November will be the biggest online sale ever witnessed in this market. It has been billed to crash the internet with discounts of up to 70% on products and flash sale offers that will see shoppers buy premium products at unrealistically low prices.

With a gloomy economy and many struggling to make a living, every Kenyan is trying to find ways of squeezing more from their shilling.  The Jumia Black Friday 2019 presents a perfect opportunity to unleash the shopping monster in you and spoil yourself, your friends and family without having to break the bank.

Black Friday will bring about close to 3 million products from regular Jumia vendors with a mix from global merchants. From these, there will be literally something for every budget.

Black Friday excites many Kenyans who often wait for the launch to dive in from the deep end. Most of them miss out not only on the ecstasy of the sale carnival but also on life-changing deals that would leave your friends and neighbours green with envy.

For those who want to milk the most from Jumia during this year’s Black Friday, there are easy rules for the game. We sample some here.

Download the Jumia app: To get the most out ofs Black Friday 2019, do yourself the favour of downloading the Jumia mobile app, and thank us later. The real action happens in the app and, of course, this is where the best deals pop up fast and furious – be it flash sales, treasure hunts or even vouchers.

How to shop on Black Friday

Well, you still can enjoy Black Friday via normal web browsing, but you will surely miss out a lot. Why should you miss when the app is free of charge?

Flash sales: Flash sales are tricky but they can give you pleasant surprises. For starters, during flash sales, prices of products are cut massively for just a short time – usually an hour or two. But you have to be there at the right time. There can be up to five flash sales daily and even more on Fridays. Just make sure you are buying one of the products on offer and, most importantly, be first and fast in your dealings.

Hunt that treasure: During the Black Friday month Jumia will give you a chance to hunt for a given product that is hidden somewhere deep on its marketplace and buy it a really crazy price. In 2018, for instance, lucky people got Ksh100,000 Oppo phones at just Ksh5.

Watch out for the hints Jumia will be sharing during the treasure hunt on their social media accounts, so be sure to follow them on Twitter or like their Facebook page.

Voucher gifts: We love gifts and vouchers are the best way to deliver that present. Jumia will be offering plenty of them and more will be available throughout the month via the mobile app. So, again, just download to position yourself for the shopping fest.
