Daniel Juma, Country Director of Global Peace Foundation Kenya, has been honored among Kenya’s Top 50 CEOs for 2025 in the NGOs and Parastatals category. The accolade, conferred by Africapitol Ventures, celebrated Mr Juma’s transformative leadership in advancing peace-building, community empowerment, and sustainable development across Kenya.
The event brought together Kenya’s leading minds in business and social innovation. Mr. Juma, in his acceptance speech, highlighted the spirit of teamwork behind GPF Kenya’s success.
“This honour is a testament to the resilience of Kenya’s youth, the dedication of grassroots partners, and the unwavering commitment of our team,” Mr Juma said. “At GPF Kenya, we believe sustainable peace begins when communities are empowered to lead change. This award reaffirms our mission to foster unity under the vision of our founder, Dr. Hyun Jin Preston Moon, who inspires us to see humanity as One Family Under God.”
Mr. Juma has led initiatives such as National Youth Peace Camps, Interfaith Dialogue Forums, and Women-Led Economic Cooperatives, directly engaging communities in conflict resolution, skills development, and cross-cultural collaboration. His work with government agencies, NGOs, and international bodies has helped reduce tensions and address youth unemployment in Kenya’s most underserved areas.

Dr. Amina Wanjiru, CEO of Africapitol Ventures, said: “Daniel Juma exemplifies visionary leadership that bridges policy and grassroots action. His innovative approaches to peacebuilding set a benchmark for societal transformation.”
The event also featured powerful messages on leadership and human capital. Mr. Hasnain Noorani, MD of Pride Inn Hotels, spoke passionately about the value of people in business. “Our businesses are only as strong as the people behind them… The true power of human capital is what drives real experience, growth, and impact. Happy staff lead to happy customers — and that is the formula of a successful, sustainable business.”
Nusra Mbarak, HR lead at Africapitol, said the awards celebrate Africans for their hard work and achievement, and to inspire the next generation of business leaders. “It’s not just about recognition, it’s about creating role models,” Nusra observed.
Founder and CEO of Africapitol Ventures, Dr. Audi, reinforced the need to celebrate local talent: “Why do we always wait until someone has passed away to say good things about them? Let’s celebrate each other while we are alive. We have great leaders among us, right here in Kenya and Africa — we don’t need to look abroad.”
Representatives from School of Growth Africa and other partners echoed similar sentiments, emphasising the importance of collaboration, visionary leadership, and homegrown solutions for Africa’s development.
Mr. Juma closed by dedicating his award to the GPF Kenya team, his family, and every peacebuilder in the field: “True leadership is about lifting others,” he said. “Every community volunteer, field officer, and young peace advocate is the real hero of this story.”
