Glovo has inked a strategic partnership with one of Kenya’s top grocery chains, Quickmart to make home deliveries in Kenya.

Accessible through the Glovo app, customers will be able to choose from an extensive catalogue of Quickmart’s top 6,000 products, which encompasses a wide array of items, including offerings from the deli (Q-cafe) and branch-specific promotions. Products are delivered to customers within an hour after the order is placed.

Duncan Kinuthia, Managing Director of Quickmart, noted that e-commerce has revolutionized retail and the chain wants to meet the ever-changing needs of the modern-day customer by making online shopping even easier through Glovo.

“Quickmart is constantly looking for ways to deliver innovative services that make customers’ daily shopping experience easier. Leveraging Glovo’s global and local expertise in the quick commerce industry, we believe this partnership will offer fast and convenient home delivery service that allows us to address our customer’s needs in the digital age,” he said.

Speaking on the partnership, Elizabeth Mbugua, Head of Q-commerce, Glovo Kenya, mentioned that the collaboration is aimed at redefining the grocery shopping experience.

“To deliver on our vision, we seek partnerships with top retailers with stores widespread across our active locations. Our goal is to make grocery shopping faster, smoother and more convenient than ever before for the customer,” she said.

“This alliance establishes Glovo as the first integrator in the market with full coverage for top grocery partners in Kenya, a testament to Glovo’s strong growth and big ambitions in Africa and beyond.”

The partnership covers all 12 cities where Glovo is active with plans to expand to other cities in the coming months.
