Two women are among eight winners of this week’s Ksh10 million SportPesa jackpot.

Mary Ndichu,25, a mother of two and green grocer Millicent Cherono, 24, will each take home Ksh1,250,000 after the jackpot money was shared among all the winners.

Cherono who placed two mid-week jackpot bets, will however, get an extra Ksh4,130 for getting 11 out of 13 predictions correctly on the extra bet.

“I am happy because at least now I can buy land and boost my business. I want to thank SportPesa for their genuine business and their way of awarding winners their money in a transparent and fast way,” said Cherono.

For 61-year old Charles Owino Otieno, the win is a welcome break after years of toiling in the Jua Kali sector. The casual labourer who works as a mason is married with six children and plans to invest the money in a construction business and employ other people.

The other winners are: Kenneth Abongo who recently finished high school but has been unable to further his studies due to financial constraints, Nyahururu residents Simon Thumbi and Simon Ndungu, battery store attendant Silas Muriungi and Ochoi Ochoi.

“I can now afford higher studies and finally study a course of my choice; IT,” said 23-year old Abongo.

SportPesa Assistant Marketing Manager PR & Advertising Esther Kang’ethe congratulated the winners most of whom were introduced to the sports gaming platform by their friends.

“I would like to encourage all of you to consider the free financial and legal advice that we offer to our winners to help them invest wisely,” she advised the winners.

This is the second multiple win within a fortnight. Another eight winners shared Ksh27,357,559 SportPesa mid-week jackpot on July 4.

The eight who were all introduced to gaming by their friends and relatives pocketed Ksh3,419,694 each.
