The NCBA Bank, in collaboration with The Macallan and Sandstorm Africa, on Friday, the 31st of October, hosted its top-tier Platinum Banking and Investment Bank clients at an exclusive event at the Almanara Hotel, Diani. The premium engagement brought together high-net-worth individuals (HNWIs) from the Coast region for a unique experience of craft, culture, and finance.

NCBA’s strategic mission for this year is to foster customer obsession and has embarked on a series of bespoke experiences that deliver meaningful value propositions for its high-net-worth clients. This initiative is a continuation of this endeavour aimed at adopting deeper connections with premium clients by tapping into their passion points such as exclusive dinners, whisky pairing experiences, jazz musicals, high-end car bazaars, and more.

The Macallan experience was designed to meet the growing needs of affluent clients in the region, offering a premium environment for wealth management consultations, tailored financial solutions, and exclusive networking opportunities. This comes at a time when Kenya ranks fifth in the Africa Wealth Report 2025 and is home to over 6,800 high-net-worth individuals.

Diani, known for its pristine beaches and world-class hospitality, provided the ideal backdrop — reflecting refined taste, exclusivity, and the lifestyle aspirations of the guests. The evening also served to formally introduce Kilonzo Muathi, the Managing Director of NCBA Investment Bank, to the bank’s coastal HNW clients.

“We recognize that for today’s discerning clientele, experiences go beyond mere luxury; they embody identity, access, and a sense of belonging,” said Muathi Kilonzo, Managing Director, NCBA Investment Bank. “For our clients, this means exclusive access and meaningful conversations that enhance both their personal finances and their lifestyles.”

The Macallan team expressed the alignment of values in this collaboration. “At The Macallan, craftsmanship, authenticity, and mastery are core to our heritage. Collaborating with NCBA in Kenya enables us to share this experience directly with guests,” The Macallan noted in a statement.

Sandstorm Africa, Kenya’s leading luxury leather goods and lifestyle brand, curated bespoke gifting and brand experience elements for the evening — showcasing handcrafted pieces inspired by Kenyan artistry and global luxury standards.

“As a brand born in Kenya and rooted in craftsmanship, we are proud to be part of creating meaningful, elevated lifestyle experiences for clients who value artistry, culture, and timeless quality,” said Shem Opiyo, CEO, Sandstorm Africa. “This collaboration reflects our belief that luxury is not just about products — it is about stories, relationships, and shared appreciation for things made with intention.”

Throughout the evening, guests enjoyed a multi-sensory journey — from whisky pairings to bespoke cocktails, intentional conversations, and handcrafted Sandstorm gifting — each detail designed to embody refinement and the evolving definition of lifestyle luxury in Kenya.
