Young Kenyans looking for a bank account that resonates their tastes and economic interests will easily find a home at Cooperative Bank of Kenya.

Last week, Co-op Bank re-launched its youth account, YEA, which is ideal for young people aged between 18 and 35 years. For a demographic that is tech-savvy and very picky when it comes to service providers, Cooperative Bank is offering an attractive proposition that not only saves time and money for young people, but also comes with convenience and a chance to look cool.

Co-op Bank is targeting the ever-growing youthful population comprising first time job holders, young entrepreneurs, digital content creators and university students, among others.

The unique thing about the account is the new YEA app, which allows instant account opening. With the app, these youthful customers don’t have to go to the branch to open an account: they just need to download the app and open an account from anywhere. The YEA app is currently available on Play store.

Being a youth mobile banking service, YEA App is a valuable tool tailored to address the financial needs of youthful customers, fostering financial literacy, convenience, and trust.  The bank says it has incorporated a double authentication factor into the application to ensure that there is enhanced security in a seamless manner.

YEA account opening can be done online with the option of a Kenya shilling account, then a USD account, which is suitable for content creators and those with online businesses and are paid in dollars.

The YEA App account supports a number of features including viewing accounts, transactions and statements. Through the YEA App, customers can transfer funds, pay bills such as payTV, taxi, KPLC tokens and even pay college fees.

Also, through YEA, they can view and apply for e-loans and virtual Cards. The account also gives them access to exclusive discounts at partner outlets. There are also exclusive webinars on topical issues e.g. financial management, digital business strategies and wellness

How to download YEA app

  • Visit the google application store.
  • Search and download the YEA app.
