Change of guard as CUEA gets new vice chancellor

The Catholic University of Eastern Africa (CUEA) has a new Vice Chancellor who assumes office effective 1st of October 2018.  Rev Prof Stephen Mbugua, of the Catholic Diocese of Nakuru, was appointed as the new Vice Chancellor at the conclusion of 19th AMECEA Plenary Assembly which took place between 13th and 23rd July 2018 in Addis Ababa. Until his appointment, Rev Prof. Mbugua was Vice Chancellor Designate of Tangaza University College which is a constituent college of CUEA.  He holds a Doctorate in Educational Psychology from Egerton University and he brings to CUEA 20 years of extensive experience and knowledge in management and leadership of Kenyan tertiary education.

At the same plenary, Rt. Rev Charles Kasonde, Bishop of Solwezi, Zambia was elected as Chairman of AMECEA. In this position, he also assumes the role of Chancellor at CUEA. With this transition, the University management is confident of a stronger CUEA that will continue to offer quality programmes for innovative and marketable graduates into the future.
