In an exciting development for Africa’s fashion industry, the Center for Business Innovations and Training (CBIT) has been selected to lead public relations for the highly anticipated “Real Leather. Stay Different. RLSD Africa Leather Design Showcase 2024”.

The African leather showcase is a global initiative spearheaded by the Leather & Hide Council of America, Africa Leather and Leather Products Institute, and coordinated in Africa by the Center for Business Innovation and Training.

The RLSD Africa Leather Design Showcase 2024, known celebrating the rich heritage of African craftsmanship and the sustainable potential of leather, has become a symbol of innovation and transformation within the fashion scene. CBIT’s involvement promises to amplify this message, drawing on its comprehensive range of consulting services and training programs to elevate the event’s impact and reach.

“Just take a look around and at yourself. You’ll hardly miss a piece of leather on you. And what has likely served you the longest is your pure leather accessory. Let’s celebrate our heritage with pride,” says Mr Edward Mwasi, Media Industry Strategy and Innovation Consultant at CBIT.

With a mission to spotlight the versatility and eco-consciousness of leather, the showcase is calling on Africa’s most creative minds, from designers and students to artisans and small businesses, to challenge traditional boundaries and embrace sustainable practices. Under CBIT’s guidance locally, the event aims to ensure these innovative voices and designs gain the recognition they deserve, both locally and on the global stage.

This partnership is more than a professional engagement;, Mr Mwasi said, noting it’s a testament to a shared vision for a future where African fashion leads the way in sustainability and creativity. “The opportunity for showcase winners to develop their designs in professional studios, feature in prestigious showcases, and present their work in Europe, is a clear indication of the event’s commitment to elevating African talent and businesses to the international arena,” he said.
