Cape Media has been unveiled as the official media partner for the WhozNext talent search programme by the Ministry of Youth Affairs Creative Economy and Sports.

The WhozNext talent search programme is set to premiere in the next few days.

In a meeting held at the Talanta Plaza headquarters, Cabinet Secretary Ababu Namwamba noted that his ministry was keen on replicating the success of the Talanta Hela program for the benefit of Kenya’s creative economy.

“WhozNext has been curated in the mould of America’s Got Talent. The initiative will focus mainly on seven thematic areas including music, pageantry, fashion, poetry, comedy, dance and content creation, as we seek to replicate the success of Talanta Hela in sports, for our creative industry,” Namwamba said.

The initiative, seen as a game changer in the creative space, will exploit areas of partnership with various media houses in terms of production and airing of actions and events that will culminate in the monetization of winning artists and funnelling them through a clear pipeline for nurturing and exposure.

CS Ababu expressed his delight at the partnership noting the station’s reach and appeal to the younger generation who are the main target for WhozNext.

“The name TV47 and Radio 47 sync well with our plan to roll out this program to all the 47 counties and am sure that we will leverage on your countrywide audience to showcase to the Kenyan people the rich talent pool that exists,” Namwamba said.

Prof Sam Gicharu, Cape Media’s founder and patron, exuded confidence in the partnership, particularly its wide coverage in both TV and radio, supplemented by the Mount Kenya University infrastructure, which he noted will be one of the infrastructure that the project can utilise.

“We have the capacity to deliver, as we are not new to having an assignment of this magnitude. We know that we have the right apparatus to produce and execute this project to international standards,” he said.
