More than 200 golfers are expected to headline the KCB East Africa Golf Tour at the 18-hole Kigali Golf course this weekend.
Top pros and amateur golfers will swing into action on Saturday as the morning action is expected to tee off at 6:00 am while the afternoon tee will get underway at 12:00 pm in the vibrant capital city of Rwanda.
The series has so far seen 12 teams qualify for the much-awaited Pro-Am grand finale event that will host 132 players at the Karen Country Club on November 24, 2023. One team from Rwanda will join the party as the ultimate showdown approaches.
“We welcome the KCB East Africa Golf Tour to the land of thousand hills for an epic golf tournament on Saturday,” Kigali Golf Club Captain Andrew Kulayige said ahead of the tournament. “We have kept our course neat and ready for the event as one team hunts for the grand finale spot.”
Recently, at the par 72 Machakos Golf Club the team comprising Jackson Musomba, Simon Kimatu, Ben Mumo, Francis Mbithi, Joseph Malatu, Francis Musembi, Kyalo Munyao, and Engineer Okemwa sealed their places at the grand finale.
“KCB East Africa Golf Tour aims to onboard all the golf enthusiasts across the East African region in a bid to expand the sport of golf. The Rwanda edition gives an opportunity to budding golfers to showcase their prowess while enjoying themselves in the beautiful Kigali golf course,” quipped BPR Bank Head of Marketing, Corporate Affairs and Citizenship, Albert Akimanzi.
The KCB East Africa Golf Tour will then proceed to the 18-hole Nyali Golf Club on November 4 for another competitive showpiece.
