Homeowners can now find luxury homes within small gated communities in Ongata Rongai. Dubbed The Ten Villas, the semi-detached high-end homes have been built on three-quarter-acre prime land along Gataka Road/Karen Ring Road, off Magadi Road.

The Villas neighbour the leafy Karen Estate. The Ten Villas Project Manager Wycliffe Mosioma said the houses are attracting growing interest locally and abroad.

“The key point of attraction for the buyers appears to be our concept of having quality and spacious homes within a small gated community to balance between privacy and exclusivity with a sense of a community,” he said.

Resale or rent

He added that the villas cost less than equivalent properties in other gated communities in Nairobi and other places with the same facilities.

The Villas are going for between Ksh23.5 million to Kh27.5 million whereas in Karen, such developments go for between Ksh50 million to Ksh75 million.

He said buyers hope the prices will go up for resale or rent when Gataka Road is completed soon.

The Kenya Rural Roads Authority (KeRRA) and the Kenya Urban Roads Authority (KURA) and the County Government of Kajiado have partnered to build good roads and other infrastructure in the area due to its proximity to Karen estate.

The area also has social amenities like shopping malls, international and local good schools, including seven universities, and the Nairobi National Park.

The villas, each with three floors, have 4 all-ensuite bedrooms with large walk-in closets as well as spacious living rooms and dining areas with patios plus an ensuite domestic servant’s quarters.

The homes have Jacuzzi, fireplaces, terraces, gym, pantries, solar water heating and two paved parking slots each and open green spaces for children.

The floors are laid with premium wood tiling in the living rooms while the rest is covered with high-end ceramic tiles to give the ambience of luxury and comfort.
