Controversial Preacher Pastor James Ng’ang’a has apologised to Citizen TV’s Linus Kaikai for threatening his life in March 2019.
The Man of God apologised to the journalist before Magistrate Patriciah Gichohi at the Kiambu courts on Monday 26th August. The Strategy and Innovations Director at Royal Media Services accepted the apology from Ng’ang’a.
“Your honour, nimemwomba msamaha Mr Kaikai kama alikasirishwa kwa hilo jambo, am sorry for that (Your honour, If Mr Kaikai was angered by that issue, I have apologised to him. I am sorry for that), ” said Ng’ang’a in a video shared by Kaikai on his twitter page.

In March 2019, Ng’ang’a was charged at Kiambu courts for threatening to kill journalist Linus Kaikai. Ng’ang’a charged at Kaikai after he made a comment directed at rogue pastors where he was demanding for regulations of religious organisations.
“We are dealing with thieves, not men of God. These are cold-blooded evangelical vampires living off the blood of their flock in the name of Jesus. They are conmen who must have their date with our police and our law courts,” Kaikai had said in an editorial during the News Gang programme on Citizen TV.
The journalist subsequently filed a complaint with the DCI. The attack followed another hard-hitting statement by a caucus of 10 evangelical bishops, who termed the language used in Kaikai’s editorial as “dirty, arrogant, highly disrespectful, derogatory and very provocative.”
The statement also angered Ng’ang’a who did not have any kind words for Kaikai in a video shared on social media. Ng’ang’a was heard directing threats to the Citizen TV journalist, something that got Kenyans’ attention.
“Wewe kijana wachana na mambo zako… na kama umeingia laini ya Pastor Ng’ang’a, my friend you will face the consequences…wewe utakimbia tu (Young man, stop your nonsense. If you’ve decided to cross Pastor Ng’ang’a’s line, my friend you will face the consequences. You will have to run),” Ng’ang’a said in the video.
Pastor Ng’ang’a has been making regular appearances on social media in the recent past with snippet videos of his church proceedings. The most viral video was one where he was recorded directing insults at bishops from his church who did not ‘respect his wife’
Ever since that video, Ng’ang’a has been a darling of Kenyans on Twitter (KOT) as videos of his church services have been shared online almost every week. Followers from his church have since defended their preacher for his utterances in church.
