Cash-strapped Switch TV has announced the departure of sassy presenter Nzula Makosi with the station saying she was embarking on a new journey.

It was not clear yet whether the Chatspot host had secured a new job but her departure is set to compound the Kenya Red Cross Society (KRCS)-owned station’s plight. She was among a star-studded team assembled to attract the youth audience to Switch TV but the mission appears to have faltered.

Her departure comes barely two weeks after the station embarked on retrenching staff in what was said to be a strategy to address over-staffing with one management source saying they recruited more employees that they needed. The station was facing challenges paying salaries on time.

Makosi previously worked at Milele FM where she co-hosted the Milele Drive show before quitting in March 2018. She has also previously worked for Baraka FM during which she was ranked as one of the prettiest Coast female presenters.

Makosi holds a degree in public relations from Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (Karen campus).

She becomes the third presenter to leave Switch TV after Remmy Majala and Leah Ngari. Grace Msalame and Shaffie Weru who were among those lined up to join the station never took up the jobs. Msalame went on to launch her own show on NTV, while Shaffie remained at Kiss 100. He was this week appointed programmes controller at Homeboyz Radio.
