Kakamega Homeboyz club owner Cleophas Shimanyula has come out to say there are many people involved in the plot including top Kenyan Premier League Clubs.

A day after the sacking of Kakamega Homeboyz coach Paul Nkata, the Homeboyz owner has dropped claims that match fixing is rife in the Kenyan Premier League with upto five clubs involved in the scam.

Shimanyula has hinted that Gor Mahia, AFC Leopards, Sofapaka and Zoo Kericho could all be involved.

“I don’t have the evidence about the other clubs, but Gor Mahia, Sofapaka, AFC Leopards and Zoo Kericho’s names appeared prominently during my investigation on my own club, which I have concrete evidence, involving seven players, the coach and assistant coach, that they were fixing matches,” Shimanyula told Goal.com

Shimanyula added match fixing has been going on since last season. “I suspected the same in one of our games last year, but I didn’t have solid evidence, though this time around I got the proof and players even confessed,” he commented.

AFC Leopards Secretary General Oscar Igaida has responded to these allegations giving Shimanyula seven days to produce evidence to support his claims, failure to which Ingwe will take legal action.

“We are doing a demand letter to him to provide evidence of math fixing failure to which we’ll take legal action,” said Igaida.

On Tuesday, Kakamega Homeboyz fired its technical bench and appointed Kenyan international Allan Wanga as an interim coach.

The sacked technical team was alleged to have been in the know of match-fixing, with two games in particular which Kakamega Homeboyz lost hugging the spotlight.

“I can confirm that we have suspended the entire technical bench for their involvement in a match-fixing scandal as we have concrete evidence on their involvement. They have since recorded statements to the police but we currently don’t have any information on their whereabouts,” Shimanyula said on Tuesday.
